Curriculum Update

Literacy: Last week we listened to a variety of songs about those serving in the military. Students analyzed the lyrics and came up with themes using a mindmap. This week we will work on making connections between the songs using theme. Discuss themes and connections between texts at home!

Math: We just wrapped up our Data Management unit. We are now moving into measurement of 2D shapes. We will be focussing on WHY the formulas we use to determine the area of a shape make sense.

Science: Grade 7's just finished up their unit on Form and Function. We had a lot of fun building our chairs and students did a great job explaining the science behind why they were (or in some cases, were not) effective designs! Great demonstration of learning. Our next unit is Pure Substances & Mixtures.

Grade 6's flew through our flight unit, completing a paper airplane challenge to consolidate our new knowledge! Our new unit will be Electricity & Electrical Devices.
